An open book on the catalogue

artitaly.org is the editorial and collaborative function of the catalogue of Italian historic and artistic heritage. Institutions, scholars and professionals can contribute by proposing changes or additions that are assessed by the scientific committee.

Principle of provenance — the core record data of each entry comes from the catalogue (ArCo/ICCD) and is shown read-only. Each contribution, instead, is signed by its author and accompanied by its review status.

Three ways to contribute

Verification

Propose the verification or correction of a field in the entry — the author attribution or any other data — with reasoning and sources.

Addition

Add critical material: an essay, recent research, a scholarly contribution or a bibliographic reference.

Photograph

Propose a new colour photograph, especially for entries without an image or documented only in black and white.

Search for a work in the catalogue

The search runs on Discover, ArtItaly's search engine. Find the work, then save it to a collection or propose a contribution from its entry.
